Join our local guide on a fascinating walking tour to get acquainted with the unique culture of the Westfjords and Iceland.

You can book the add-on option of trying out locally crafted beer at the end of the tour.

This tour is tailored to the timings of cruise ship passengers, departs from the Isafjordur Information Office (5 minutes easy walk from the cruise ship dock) and ends right by the harbour with optional local beer tasting.
- We guarantee a 100% refund for this tour if the cruise ship does not make it to port for any reason.

Also available as a private tour in English, German, French, Spanish and Russian.

We start the tour from the local fish shop and walk along the outer harbour to the backstreets with the oldest houses of Isafjordur. We learn about the fishing industry, see some of the most historic houses and listen to stories from folklore.

We then head out for a view over the bay to get acquainted with the region and fjords around Isafjordur before continuing our walk past the music school to the Haestikaupstadur area where we get acquainted with the settlement of Iceland and history of the town.

There is a 10-minute break at the town square where you can learn about Icelandic cuisine, coffee and cake culture at the bakery and visit some of the craft shops to see Icelandic knitwear.

We then continue past the grand Edinborg house to Nedstikaupstadur, a heritage area which houses the oldest buildings in town and the Westfjords Heritage Museum, from where you have a gorgeous view of the fjord.

Afterwards we take you for an optional local beer tasting at the local microbrewery, located right at the cruise ship harbour where you can sit and relax and order your favourite beer if you like. Local snacks will also be served as a sample along with the beer.

If you do not want to join the beer tasting, our guide will drop you back to your ship or can recommend a cafe, restaurant or shop based on your interests for the rest of the day.
