We then head out for a view over the bay to get acquainted with the region and fjords around Isafjordur before continuing our walk past the music school to the Haestikaupstadur area where we get acquainted with the settlement of Iceland and history of the town.

There is a 10-minute break at the town square where you can learn about Icelandic cuisine, coffee and cake culture at the bakery and visit some of the craft shops to see Icelandic knitwear.

We then continue past the grand Edinborg house to Nedstikaupstadur, a heritage area which houses the oldest buildings in town and the Westfjords Heritage Museum, from where you have a gorgeous view of the fjord.
