Day 1 - We depart from Reykjavik and start by exploring the Golden Circle with multiple stops including Thingvellir national park, Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir geyser area. Possibility of fitting a Blue Lagoon visit into the itinerary. We travel onwards to the south coast at the end of the day.

Day 2 - The scenic South Shore drive including these highlights: Seljalandsfoss & Skogafoss waterfalls, Dyrholaey island, Reynisfjara black sand beach and Reynisdrangar ocean columns, and glimpses of some of Iceland's most famous volcanoes including Hekla, Katla and Eyjafjallajokull. We finish the day in the southeast close to the great Vatnajokull glacier.

Day 3 - This day is extremely beautiful as we travel along the Vatnajokull glacier and visit the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, Skaftafell & enjoy the towering Eastfjords. Overnight in the Eastfjords.

Day 4 - Explore the diversity of Lake Myvatn in detail and the powerful waterfalls of Dettifoss & Godafoss. We enjoy a late afternoon and overnight stay in the cultural town of Akureyri, Iceland's largest settlement outside of the Reykjavik area.

Day 5 - Travel from Akureyri back to Reykjavik via the mountaineous northwestern countryside and Borgarfjordur fjord.

 

Note that the above itinerary can be tailor made as per preferences. This is an express itinerary and the same sightseeing can not be covered in less time than five days, but we can add as many extra days as you like to slow down the pace of the trip and allow time for day tours & other local experiences along the way.
