Fossavatnsgangan

Wild Westfjords is the official travel agency of Fossavatnsgangan (also known as the Fossavatn Ski Marathon or Fossavatn loppet) and one of the event's main sponsors. We offer various tour packages, customised travel solutions, accommodation and tours in conjunction with the event.

Fossavatnsgangan was first held in 1935 and is the oldest and biggest cross country tournament in Iceland. It takes place every year in the picturesque mountains surrounding the town of Ísafjörður in the Westfjords. In 2015 it became a part of the Worldloppet series. The next main race takes place on 29th April 2017. More information on the event can be found on the official website.
